Biografia
Gianni Torres, nato in casa a Polignano a mare (Bari - Italia).
Tutti i lavori sono tinti di ironia, sentimento, poesia e soprattutto ORIGINALITA'.
Ho iniziato l'infanzia nella natura e l' attività professionale in radio, a 16 anni, come speaker, attore radiofonico e autore per RADIO private. A 20 anni mi sono occupato di STAMPA: ho diretto e fondato Dilectus, primo mensile di Appuntamenti con lo Spettacolo diffuso in Puglia. Nel corso del tempo mi sono poi occupato, da freelance, di PUBBLICITA' (art e copywriter). In qualità di producer (Italia) ho contribuito alla realizzazione della Campagna mondiale del colosso svedese della telefonia Ericsson. Ho ideato, scritto e diretto gli Spot per promuovere la città di Bari nel mondo. Ho lavorato per la TV collaborando con Rai e Mediaset da Esperto Artistico e consulente nell'ambito di specifici programmi d'intrattenimento. Mi sono specializzato nello sviluppo di progetti culturali e/o turistici per lo sviluppo del territorio attraverso l'ideazione e l'organizzazione di grandi EVENTI costantemente seguiti dai media nazionali ed internazionali. Vengo spesso ospitato, da regista, autore ed ideatore di eventi, in molte trasmissioni televisive e radiofoniche nazionali ed internazionali.
Ho iniziato l'attività di SCRITTURA CINEMATOGRAFICA DI FICTION scrivendo la mia prima sceneggiatura e vincendo il Premio Speciale Alberto Moravia per la Sceneggiatura. Alcuni miei documentari sono stati trasmessi dalla Tv italiana e da altre emittenti internazionali. E in vari festival e contesti culturali internazionali. Per i DOCUMENTARI D'AUTORE e per l'attività nella cultura e nello spettacolo ho ricevuto numerosi premi e riconoscimenti.
In questo momento trovo stimolante raccontare cinematograficamente storie e immagini della realtà attraverso film documentari d'autore, sempre dal Soggetto particolarissimo che li rendono riconoscibili nel panorama cinematografico. Sono ideatore di FORMAT per la Tv e per il Web.
Un sottile gusto per l'assurdo ed il grottesco, uniti alla poesia ed alla antropologia, permettono ai miei lavori di stupire, sorprendere ed emozionare sempre lo spettatore.

Gianni Torres, born at home in Polignano a Mare (Bari, Italy).
All of my work is imbued with irony, emotion, poetry, and above all, originality.
I spent my early childhood surrounded by nature and began my professional career in radio at the age of 16, working as a speaker, radio actor, and writer for local private stations. At 20, I turned to print media, founding and directing Dilectus, the first monthly entertainment guide published in the Puglia region.
Over time, I worked as a freelancer in advertising (both as art director and copywriter). As a producer in Italy, I contributed to the global campaign of the Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson. I also created, wrote, and directed commercials to promote the city of Bari internationally.
For television, I collaborated with RAI and Mediaset as an artistic consultant and expert for specific entertainment programs.
I have specialized in developing cultural and tourism-related projects aimed at promoting regional development through the creation and organization of major public events, widely covered by both national and international media. I am often invited, as a director, writer, and event creator, to appear on national and international TV and radio programs.
I began writing fiction screenplays with my first script winning the Alberto Moravia Special Award for Screenwriting. Several of my documentaries have aired on Italian television and other international broadcasters, and have been featured in film festivals and cultural events around the world.
For my authored documentaries and my work in the fields of culture and entertainment, I have received numerous awards and recognitions.
At present, I find it especially inspiring to tell real-life stories through auteur documentary films, always starting from a very distinctive concept, which makes them stand out in the cinematic landscape.
I am also the creator of formats for both television and web platforms.
A subtle taste for the absurd and the grotesque, combined with poetry and anthropology, gives my work the power to amaze, surprise, and move audiences.
